Perfectly suited to both complete beginners and seasoned anglers, this exceptional experience unfolds across the resort’s tranquil lakes and the storied waters of the River Liffey. Fly fishing for Rainbow Trout is available year-round on the estate lakes, offering a peaceful and uniquely rewarding activity at any time of year.

Guided by our experienced ghillies, guests are gently transported to the water’s edge, where the rhythm of the cast becomes second nature. Under their patient instruction, many first-time anglers have landed their very first fish — a memorable milestone framed by ancient trees and expansive skies.

For those seeking a greater challenge, the River Liffey — which gracefully dissects the magnificent grounds of The K Club — is home to wild Brown Trout and Pike. Targeting these native species (available from March 1st to September 30th) offers a rewarding test of skill, instinct, and finesse. A traditional Irish lough boat may be used to access the river’s quieter lies, subject to safe and suitable water levels.

Carp and Pike fishing is also available on the estate lakes, with Pike accessible throughout the year. During the warmer days of July, when water temperatures require particular care for salmonid species, Carp fishing offers a thoughtful and responsible alternative.

In keeping with modern angling ethics, all fish are carefully handled and returned to the water, preserving the integrity of this pristine ecosystem. The use of barbless hooks is encouraged.
