Barton Grill is now open at The K Club, bringing a fresh and confident expression of casual fine dining to the estate. Blending the refinement of a high-end culinary experience with an effortlessly relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, this new dining destination invites both residents and visitors alike to experience something truly special.

At the heart of the kitchen is a steadfast commitment to exceptional Irish produce, thoughtfully sourced from trusted suppliers across the country. The ingredient-led menu reflects the combined expertise and distinctive flair of Executive Chef Gary O’Hanlon and Head Chef Adam Leahy. Having worked alongside Gary for the past decade, Adam steps into this new chapter with depth, continuity and a quietly assured creativity that defines the spirit of Barton Grill.

Whether arriving as a hotel guest, concluding a round of golf, or simply seeking an exceptional meal, Barton Grill offers an experience that feels both comforting and contemporary. Classical technique forms the foundation of the cooking, honouring The K Club’s French heritage, while each dish is finished with a modern Irish sensibility.

Signature centrepieces such as Beef Wellington, tableside Dover Sole, Oysters and Scallops celebrate the timeless Grill tradition. These are complemented by refined classics including Dublin Bay Prawn Cocktail and French Onion Soup — dishes that evoke familiarity while delivering elegance on every plate.

The drinks experience is equally considered. Guests enter through a softly illuminated wine wall showcasing carefully curated bottles from The K Club’s own cellar — part of the historic legacy of the Barton family, one of the longest-established Irish families in the Bordeaux wine trade. For those wishing to deepen their experience, pre-dinner tastings in the cellar are available, guided by the hotel’s knowledgeable sommeliers led by Lisa O’Doherty. A refined cocktail menu completes the offering, featuring chic classics alongside handcrafted K Club signatures.

Barton Grill’s visual identity reflects its refined character. Inspired by the native Straffan snowdrop — first discovered on the estate in the 1850s — the logo speaks to a deep connection with the landscape and natural beauty of its Kildare setting. Grapes woven into the design pay tribute to the Barton family’s distinguished wine heritage, while a subtle French sophistication runs throughout the aesthetic. At its heart stands the iconic 1830s Straffan House, illustrated by Tara Fetherston, creating a brand mark rooted in nature, heritage and family tradition.

This sense of place continues within the restaurant itself, where a curated collection of 20 original artworks, commissioned by owner Michael Fetherston from Dublin-based artist Jean Lowndes, draws inspiration from the estate’s grounds and the Barton legacy. The collection enriches the space with depth, story and a profound connection to The K Club’s remarkable surroundings.

Now open, Barton Grill marks a confident new chapter for dining at The K Club — where exceptional food, thoughtful design and a rich sense of history come together in an atmosphere that feels refined, welcoming and effortlessly elegant.
