COVID-19 Protocol & Hygiene Policies at The K Club

Covid-19 Update:

Following the recent government announcement which has moved the Republic of Ireland to Level 5 restrictions, The K Club will re-open on June 2nd.

The K Club team would like to thank everyone for the support and best wishes we have received from guests and friends of the Resort over this difficult period.  We are excited to be open and welcoming guests back to The K Club.

The safety of our guests, colleagues and our families is our main priority.

It is important to us that our guests and team members feel comfortable and confident returning to The K Club.  We are devoted to bringing you the memorable experience of luxury that you would expect from the team here at The K Club while adhering to or exceeding all recommendations for safety, sanitation, and social distancing from local authorities and public health experts.

We have always taken great pride in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and service throughout The K Club, and that commitment is only strengthened in response to Covid-19.

For our guests and team members wellbeing we are adhering strictly to the Government, Failte Ireland, The Health Services Executive (HSE) and the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, together with enhanced cleaning and hygiene measures from industry experts: Ecolab, Sea Change and the Food Safety Company.In order to ensure the comfort, health, and peace of mind of all our visitors and associates, we have implemented the following detailed safety plan called The Kare Code for our upcoming reopening:


General Measures

All operating procedures throughout The K Club has been reviewed and reworked to ensure a luxury service experience while adhering to social distancing and increased hygiene measures.

  • We have implemented a flow management system for customers front of house and for our team members back of house, to ensure social distancing at all times.
  • We have added sanitizing stations at all key entry and exit points including public toilets and lifts.
  • A dedicated cleaning team has been appointed to clean and sanitize public areas and high touch points within each department.
  • The hotel will operate a pre-booking process for all experiences throughout the hotel to ensure that all guests can be seated upon arrival while minimizing queuing.
  • We have implemented PPE and screens in key public areas and back of house to ensure a preventative approach is in place.
  • We have introduced systems to deal with deliveries, packaging, personal contact points and other supplier activities in order to minimise on-site presence and waiting times.
  • A social distancing policy is in place in all areas.
  • All of our team members will be fully trained on best practices regarding Coronavirus.
  • All team members undergo a temperature check before starting their workday.
  • A Lobby Manager will on be on hand to guide and assist you through the distancing process ensure the constant flow and protection of everyone.

Restaurants and Bars

  • PPE: All of our team members have undergone training in how to put on and take off PPE safely and will wear it when necessary.
  • Protective Screens: We have installed protective screens in key customer engagement areas where necessary including reception desks to protect customers and team members.
  • Hand Sanitizer: Facilities to disinfect your hands with hand sanitizer are available in all food & beverage areas and outside restrooms.
  • Increased Frequency of Cleaning: Door handles, table tops, handrails and trolleys are cleaned several times a day to ensure your safety.
  • Social Distancing: We have re-engineered our food & beverage areas and are following the 2 meter distancing guidelines throughout the front and back of house.
  • Flow Management: We have introduced a one-way flow management system which will be managed by personnel at the front door of the hotel, with clear signage indicating social distancing and directions.
  • Digital Payments: We are encouraging cashless / contactless payments.
  • Menus: We will be using disposable menus or wipe able menus that are sanitized after each use to prevent cross contamination.
  • We are providing table service only.

Pre-Arrival

  • The K Club team will customize your stay at the pre-arrival reservations stage to ensure all your preferred times are pre-booked for meal periods and other activities.
  • Arrival: Arriving guests will have a designated entrance for checking in. This will be managed by our team at the front door, and the lobby will also have clear signage denoting social distancing and directions.
  • Protective screens: We have installed protective screens at reception and concierge desks to protect our internal and external guests.
  • Sanitization: Frequent sanitization of high touch points such as elevators, reception counter top, credit card terminals, and pens etc. throughout the day.

Arrival

  • Parking: Parking is available however during this time valet parking is not in operation. Guests are welcome to drive up to the door and drop off luggage before driving their car to the carpark.
  • Luggage: Luggage handles will be sanitized before and after luggage handling and on delivery to your room.
  • In-room requests:  All our guest requests will be conducted while adhering to social distancing.

Departure

  • Express checkout options are available.
  • Multiple check out areas will be available.

Housekeeping

  • Training: All associates have undergone retraining on the latest protocols and best practice standards in relation to PPE, physical distancing, cleaning standards and hygiene practices.
  • Operating Standards: All cleaning standards have been fully reviewed and updated to ensure we have robust cleanliness and hygiene practices.
  • PPE: All associates will wear appropriate personal protective equipment and are fully trained in how to put on and take off PPE safely.
  • Chemical Audit: We have conducted a full review of all cleaning agents and chemicals in conjunction with our partner Ecolab.
  • Sanitising Stations: We have strategically placed hand sanitising stations throughout public areas.
  • Sanitising Schedule: We have implemented a documented sanitising program in place to ensure all public area high touch points (door handles/ lifts/ hand rails etc.) are sanitised on a regular basis throughout each day.
  • In Room: Guest room amenities will now include hand sanitizer gel and sanitising wipes.

The K Spa

Here at The K Spa we are committed to your health + wellness. We would like to reassure you that we are practicing strict controls to ensure the health and safety of all employees and clients and have the following protocols in place.

INFECTION CONTROL MEASURES

We strongly encourage all employees & clients to follow these guidelines from the World Health Organisation on infection control, both whilst at work and in their daily lives.

This includes:

Frequently cleaning hands by using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub.

When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue, throwing this tissue away immediately and washing their hands.

Avoiding close contact with anyone who has fever and cough.

HYGIENE

The K Spa has secured premium surface and hand sanitizers from Eco Lab. These sanitizers, have been laboratory tested as being 99.9% successful against Covid-19 and are being used throughout the Spa.

K Spa staff are practicing strict hygiene controls including thorough hand-washing between clients along with sanitizing and ventilating treatment rooms between clients.

HOT TUB + JACUZZIS

The HSE has advised that proper chlorination of Hot Tubs and Swimming Pools kills Covid-19. The K Spa carries out Hot Tub chemical checks at regular intervals to ensure chlorine levels are maintained at the optimal level.

IF YOU PRESENT WITH SYMPTOMS

In the interest of other clients and staff, if you present at the K Spa showing symptoms of Coronavirus you may be asked to reschedule your treatment. If you begin to display symptoms of the virus, you must follow Government guidance to find out what to do next.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Rest assured that our normal cancellation policy applies. You can reschedule your treatment booking up to 48 hours before your booking start time. If you cancel within 48 hours, your deposit will be withheld.

 

Swimming Pool

  • Swim times are limited to a number of 10 guest in the pool at any one time. This is on a first come first served basis.
  • The swim times are on the hour every hour and the length of time per session is 40 minutes – everyone will be asked to leave the pool at 40 mins past the hour for the area to be sanitized.
  • Before you arrive please ensure you are not showing any symptoms of COVID-19 (temperature, cough, difficulty breathing or the loss of taste and smell)
  • To reduce the time spent in changing areas, please arrive ready to swim (wearing your swimwear under your clothes) and get out of the pool ready to leave. Please shower in your room pre and post swimming. There are no showers available in the K Spa.
  • Please leave all valuables in your hotel room safe.
  • Take any of your own equipment with you, floats, kickboards etc. During this period The K Spa team cannot provide any equipment.
  • When you arrive at the K Spa please use the hand sanitiser on arrival.
  • You will be asked to sign in with your contact details for contact tracing.
  • A member of the K Spa team will guide you to your locker, we will open and close your locker for you and also provide a towel.
  • Please follow the directions and signs for entry and exiting the pool.
  • People of different standards and abilities will use the pool. Please respect their right to enjoy their swim.
  • There is a limit of one adult in the hot tub and Jacuzzi for a maximum time of 5 minutes. No under 18’s allowed.
  • No Splashing or diving is allowed.
  • Sauna and Steam rooms are closed until further notice.
  • Try to leave at least 5 metres between yourself and other swimmers.
  • Exhale under water where possible.
  • For family swimming please ensure you and your children observe the social distancing guideline from other clients while in the K Spa and pool.
  • Please place the towels in the designated basket in the K Spa reception area.

Gym

  • Gym times are limited to a number of 5 guest in the gym at any one time. A booking system is not in operation. This is on a first come first served basis
  • There is an over flow Gym with 4 stations in the aerobics studio – all stations are the required physical distance apart.
  • The K Spa reception team will manage this and keep the flow of the guests and ensure no gatherings or numbers are not exceeded at any time.
  • The gym times are on the hour every hour and the length of time per session is 40 minutes. Allowing the K Spa staff to sanitise each area fully during the 20 mins.
  • We ask that you sanitise all gym equipment before and after use.
  • Before you arrive please ensure you are not showing any symptoms of COVID-19 (temperature, cough, difficulty breathing or the loss of taste and smell).
  • To reduce the time spent in changing areas, please arrive ready to work out. There are no showers available in the K Spa. Please shower in your room or at home pre and post work out
  • Please leave all valuables in your hotel room safe or house.
  • When you arrive at the K Spa please use the hand sanitiser on arrival.
  • You will be asked to sign in with your contact details for contact tracing.
  • A member of the K Spa team will guide you to your locker, we will open and close your locker for you and also provide a towel.
  • Sauna and Steam rooms are closed until further notice.
  • Do not make physical contact with other gym users.
  • Please place the towels in the designated basket in the K Spa reception area
