Meet the Team: Alex Broderick

Alex joined The K Club team 4 years ago as part of Shannon College of Hotel Management’s trainee management programme. After his programme finished, he stayed on as part of the reservations team. Since then, his career within the hotel has progressed in leaps and bounds being promoted very quickly to Reception Supervisor then to Front Office Manager and now has been recently promoted to Executive Housekeeping Manager. Over the years Alex has been the Straffan House butler, our ultra-luxury property on the resort. We asked Alex what the secret is to being a great butler and he said “To find the perfect surprise and fun touches to make each guest feel special. Every day presents an opportunity to engage with the guest to create a lifetime memory! This can be as simple as telling an interesting story about the history of the original Straffan house to arranging a grand proposal on the grounds.” Outside of work he is a Kilkenny fan through and through, traditionally the only request for a day off would be the first Sunday in September however now has been moved to the 2nd Sunday in July.
