The K Club, formerly Straffan House and now a 5 Star Country House Hotel, is set outside the village of Straffan which is close to the bigger Kildare towns of Celbridge and Maynooth.
The Gaelic for Straffan is "Sruthan", meaning ‘The Stream' and the village is renowned for being quaint old English style. It has many local attractions including The Strafffan Steam Museum and The Straffan Butterfly Farm.
The Straffan Butterfly Farm
The Straffan Butterfly Farm which is owned and run by Des and Iris Fox has been open to the public every summer since 1986. The butterfly exhibition continues to run every year during the months of June, July and August in Straffan, Co. Kildare, Ireland. Click here for more information.
Clonfert Pet Farm
Established in 2009 Clonfert Pet Farm started out as a small open farm with approx 10 different types of animals and an outdoor play area. Since 2009 there has been continuous hard work done to improve the facilities and the farm's family has increased to over 60 different types of wonderful and exotic animals.
